The International Buddhist Federation’s Arcadia chapter, in collaboration with USC Arcadia Hospital (formerly known as Mei Wei Mei Hospital), will host the 2024 “Peace and Joy” free health clinic on Sunday, October 20, from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM. This event is completely free of charge and will offer refreshments and complimentary gifts to all attendees. The location of the event is USC Arcadia Hospital at 300 W. Huntington Drive, Arcadia, CA 91007.
For 22 years, this annual free clinic has provided essential services to the community, assisting over 500 individuals each year.
This year, the health screening will include tests for liver and kidney function, thyroid function, cholesterol levels, diabetes, and a total of 24 blood tests, along with various other health services. These services encompass hearing screenings, eye examinations, flu vaccinations, blood pressure checks, cognitive assessments for dementia, body fat assessments, osteoporosis screenings, carotid artery stroke screenings, nutritional consultations, and cancer screenings.
It’s important for participants to note that the cognitive assessment for dementia is for individuals aged 55 and older. Additionally, those with egg allergies should refrain from flu vaccinations. Any changes to the services offered on the day of the event will not be announced in advance. The clinic prioritizes uninsured or low-income individuals, and certain testing services will be on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies last. All services will only be available on the day of the event, and no pre-registration or appointments will be accepted. The clinic is open to individuals ages 18 and above.
