Fourth suspect arrested in Douglaston Chinese house burglary, District Attorney files charges

In a recent press conference, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced significant developments in the Douglas-ton home invasion case. Following the arrest and prosecution of three suspects involved in the robbery, a fourth individual, 45-year-old Oneil Thompson, has been formally charged as an alleged accomplice who assisted the trio in fleeing the scene.

According to reports from the police, the incident occurred on August 17 at approximately 2:15 AM, when three armed men broke into a residence on 247th Street in Douglaston. Armed with a hammer and a knife, they woke the homeowner and held the entire family at gunpoint, demanding to know the location of cash in the house. During this terrifying ordeal, one woman, carrying her one-year-old baby, managed to escape and contact the authorities. When police arrived, the suspects attempted to flee through a back window, but they were apprehended by multiple officers who also recovered over $10,000 in stolen cash.

On the 25th, DA Katz elaborated on Thompson’s role, stating, “The defendant knowingly and intentionally participated in this shocking home invasion, resulting in a family being held at gunpoint. Thanks to the brave actions of a young mother who fled with her baby to seek help, and the swift response of law enforcement, this incident did not escalate into a greater tragedy. All involved individuals have now been apprehended and will face justice in court.”

Thompson faces a total of 41 charges, including seven counts of second-degree kidnapping, six counts of first-degree burglary, robbery in the third degree, second-degree weapon possession, and endangering the welfare of a child. If convicted on the most serious counts, he could face up to 25 years in prison.

The three earlier apprehended suspects include 39-year-old Brandon Dash, 34-year-old Ryan Dash, and 47-year-old Jone Smith, also known as Conrad Harrigan. They were arraigned last month on the same 41 charges.
